Calm Together is an innovative two-year Stress and Anxiety Management Programme designed to address the growing mental health challenges faced by individuals and families in our community.
The programme is providing structured monthly 4 hour workshops where 15 participants will receive expert advice, create action plans to reduce stress and anxiety, and engage in holistic and creative activities such as relaxation therapies, photography walks, and nature outings.
This programme combines therapeutic workshops with purposeful, banked volunteer activities to support participants in managing their own wellbeing while building connection, confidence and a sense of fulfilment. All projects are designed as early intervention, supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing before challenges reach crisis point. We know this approach works.
When adults feel calmer, more supported and emotionally regulated, the positive effects naturally ripple outwards creating healthier relationships at home, more resilient families, and happier, more secure children. While children do not attend the workshops, they benefit greatly from having parents and carers who feel better equipped to manage stress and anxiety in everyday life.
The initiative is also supporting people experiencing homelessness, providing essential resources to an estimated 200 individuals annually through community collection drives. Children are welcome to take part alongside adults, learning first-hand what support, compassion and community mean. By helping others, children and adults alike develop empathy, confidence and a sense of purpose all of which positively support emotional growth and mental wellbeing.
Over the two-year programme, our workshops will reach 120 participants and train 10 volunteers, creating a broad and meaningful impact across families, individuals and multiple community groups.

Calm Together-Workshops Highlights
Across recent sessions, participants have explored a wide range of stress-relief techniques designed to support emotional and physical wellbeing.
Each workshop includes a mix of activities such as guided meditations, psychological tools for managing stress, mindful eating exercises (yes – the banana gets eaten!), and gentle movement. Participants, including children, benefit from calming therapies such as Indian head massage, reflexology, and gentle neck, shoulder and back massage, helping to promote relaxation and emotional wellbeing for the whole family.
As part of our practical approach, attendees have the opportunity to engage with a Stress Management Inventory – a reflective tool to help understand personal stress levels and identify areas for growth.
Workshops are rounded off with time to connect over refreshments, and everyone receives take-home resources including our Calm Together tip leaflets and wellbeing journals to support continued self-care between sessions.
We’re proud to offer a safe, welcoming space where people can come together to unwind and recharge.
Many parents tell us their children feel calmer and more settled after our sessions
