HIKE FOR HOPE
is a gentle wellbeing project for all families and children, welcoming people of all backgrounds and abilities. Walking together in nature provides a powerful space for building friendships, sharing experiences and increasing exercise. For refugee women in particular, the project creates opportunities to connect with others, build trust and feel part of the community. Children benefit from time outdoors with their mothers, learning healthy habits and reducing feeling of isolation. build routine, improve physical and emotional wellbeing, and feel more connected to themselves, their families and the wider community.
Many families tell us that children who benefit from calm, sensory-friendly activities feel more settled and relaxed after outdoor sessions and gentle movement.
Weekly outdoor walks and hikes encourage families to get moving together in nature, while winter sessions or poor weather bring activities indoors with gentle movement such as yoga, stretching and relaxation. All sessions are inclusive, adaptable and pressure-free, creating a safe and welcoming space where mums and children can move at their own pace, build confidence and find strength and hope together.

When weather conditions are unsuitable, sessions move indoors and focus on gentle movement such as yoga-inspired exercises, stretching and relaxation. These indoor sessions ensure participants can continue moving regularly throughout the year in a calm, supportive and pressure-free setting that feels safe and accessible for both adults and children.
